At first, I was doing what I do when any of you ask me for help with new boards: setting up the skin and adding a few codes and just helping with the basics. But this time, I got into it. REALLY into it. As opposed to my normal Tech Admin status, I even eventually accepted the offer of Co-Owner. Seriously guys. This board has massive SG influence, and as such massive SG Approval. xP
Lunalei RPG is a new board owned by myself and Cerulean. It is set up around a theory that when the world was young, after Arceus watched and guided as his Original Creations shaped the world, and just before he took to his slumber, he gave each of his most glorious- the Legends- a gift. They would be able to create one area in this new world however they desired. The land of Lunalei was Cresselia's choice with her gift~
The island itself resembles a tao ("yin-yang"), guarded most of the way around by a cliff in the shape of a crescent moon, the two sides of the tao split by a mighty river that flows from the cliff.
The eastern half is known as Padara: a rich, lush paradise, full of forests- primarily of the evergreen variety- and bursting with natural resources. Here, Packs and prides and similar feral groups thrive, living off the abundance of the land around them, hunting and gathering. (Indeed, it's very similar to the average pack or whatnot on ED, or any other pack-based board, though
especially those that are very feral about it like many canine-specific boards, though you can have more than canines in a Padaran pack.) Their existance is wild and natural, and many feel a deep bond with the earth.
The western half is known as Halia: a broad, flatter landscape spotted by small bursts of deciduous forests and other resource-rich spots. This land is perfect for shaping to suit the desires of those who can work it, and that is exactly what the Tribes who thrive here do. Anthropomorphic Pokemon of great variety live in villages, and while some still hunt until they can afford not to or because they enjoy it, most primarily farm and keep livestock! (To answer, not Tauros; cattle! :3 That's right, there are real animals, and they play a fair-sized role throughout the RP!) Their existance is highly advanced at least by Pokemon standards, living by intelligence and hard work.
As you can see, these lifestyles are VERY different. Most Halians see Padarans as filthy, savage, barbaric beasts who are not smart enough to make good use of what they have, while most Padarans see Halians as overly-ambitious radicals who scar and destroy the glorious earth for their own selfish gain. While a ceasefire was called some time ago regarding true war, "You stay on your side and I'll stay on mine" can't work all the time, and tensions remain high between the two factions. Occasional sympathists and propogandists who don't think there should be so much hate or try to stir up even more just add to the mix. >3
There's hardly a limit as to your possibilities~ And infinite characters means you can both dive into another tried and true pack-based style and try out the anthropomorphic style as well<3
