So, I was looking at the list of acceptable species again, when I noticed something. Two things, actually.

1. Bidoof was not on said list. However, its counterparts from the Kanto, Johto, and Hoenn regions (Rattata, Sentret, and Zigzagoon, respectively) were. Why is this? Sure, Bidoof isn't the most popular species ever, but neither is Rattata (though I love them both).

2. Slowpoke was not on the list, either. As the otters of the pokemon world, I was curious as to why they weren't acceptable- the list seems to consist of the land-dwelling mammals of pokemon, after all. Again, they aren't the most popular species, but I'd personally love to RP one without having to use a promo.

So yeah. Any comments on this? I was just curious. And want to be able to potentially RP a purebred of one of the above species.

Hm, I agree on your first point entirely.

I also agree that Slowpoke seem like they would be good to be acceptable, but I dunno... And I'm not sure I agree they're otters. x3 But they DO seem to be mammals. And Water isn't overburdened with acceptable species, surely.

Hmm... Indeed, Wiki says in the Biology section for Slowpoke that they are "large pink creatures which resemble a cross between a salamander and a hippopotamus." And Hippopotas/Hippowdon ARE acceptable species, so... Methinks it would be good also.

But there's nothing I can really do about it. x3 :sweat:

Slowpoke are Water/Psychic, making them elementally both Water and Light. Once some more species are added (fakes), however, Slowpoke may well become another Houndour. I do try quite hard to keep the amount of available species from each Element fairly equal, though. ..... O__o Come to think of it, Slowpoke is an EXCELLENT counterpart to Houndour... 'xD It's gonna need a GOOD amount of fakes to put in Dark to balance, though, as Slowpoke has three family members, and I still really want to add Spoink and Grumpig as I should have done long ago.. '^^;

As to Bidoof, it starts off Rogue, then becomes Water, putting it in an awkward position compared to other playable species. The "counterparts" are all pure Normal (Rogue) all their lives.

For the record, though, Slowpoke and Rattata are two of my FAVORITE species... xD Not quite my Top Four (the only ones I've had the heart to label with real numbers, though I started to do it mathematically with a spreadsheet once.... xD Got bored WAY too fast though..), but LOVE them. ^^ Hehe.
