Title: About Promos

I may be an horrible spoilsport, but really, I think promo are too rich. Though I understand some special events (like the site anniversary) are worth some extra prize, the amount of the givings is very great and other promos are very similar too.

It sorts of spoils things a bit, when you can have overpowered chars so quickly and I've seen it makes people lose interest quickier because it's not a real challenge any more.

And yes, I know the easy solution if I don't like it is to not claim it, but IMO, it'll do good to the site to make thing a bit harder on members and make promo really special :P

What does it matter? Half the time we hardly use the items we give our chars from promos! ^_^ Plus, if the chars get powerful so will their adversaries making it even more of a challenge. If not they'll just be strong enough to keep balance. Still, you have a good point. SOME people might lose interest quickly because of this, but most of us won't! In fact, the main reason members leave is because of their lives getting to busy, not generous promos.

Lol. Well, Olive does have that point. But if you'll look, most of the promos that give out levels anymore have a restriction as to what they can be given to. This means you can level quickly for a bit, but once you get about 30 it gets a lot harder. (xD Don't I know that... *shot* *character on WoW recently hit 30* xP) Other than that, I don't think berries, a few little items, herbs, etc are really too all-powerful. =P I mean, characters are bound to come across them at some point.

It just makes it a lot easier on everyone to give the majority out via promos with the assumption the character 'found' them in the 'uneventful travel' time between their RP'd topics. It means members can concentrate more on RPing friends, lovers, and battles rather than 'hey are there any herbs I can farm?', though they are still able to obtain items via searching as well; in addition, it removes the Mod responsibility for random items when the member isn't searching (though they can still do it, just aren't required to), allowing the Mods to concentrate more on furthering journeys that need it. x3 And in case you haven't noticed, the majority of Mods barely get journeys updated as it is. xD *SHOT* Lol, kidding, kidding! xP As long as it gets done at all I don't mind too much if one or two are accidentally overlooked; I know you guys have lives too. =) .... Kind of... xP (Okay really, who here ACTUALLY has a life? xD NOT ME!)

*waves hand* I have a life. In fact, I'm moving to my own place and will likely have intermittent updates again for a while.

But yes. Out of curiosity, do we have a system that says... say... after level 30, you must use 2 promo levels to get 1 acutal level? Or something like that? I know it takes more battles as you get higher, but I don't think we touched on promos.

Meh. Really with the exception of very rare promos, I just STOP allowing people to grow on Promos after 30. That way they can powerlevel for a while, and on rare occasions after that, but for the majority have to WORK to get much higher.
