Maybe it's just me... but I was wondering if the site has a battle system anywhere in place? Like, how do we calculate damage from attacks and effects? Is there a multiplier for experience gained versus levels? I mean, one minor hunt is a lot less difficult than a big border squabble, do we take that into consideration when dealing with battle experience?
It could just be me having an insecure moment. I like things to follow a system of some sort. And I haven't really been able to find any lists explaining it to new members. Or old members who don't really know...
'^.^; Meh.. There's a system.. kinda.. It's just not exactly.. strict, persay.. Namely because keeping up with EXP is REALLY monotonous and a major pain, at least to me... Still, I did have an idea for an actual leveling system if people really want it. I know Tiefy complains about the current one too.. *shrug* I dunno. Tell me what you want people.
As for damage. It depends. If you're using style 1, with a Mod as a ref, then the Mod determines how severe the attacks are, etc. With style 2, it's up to the RPers to be realistic with it. Naturally, either way takes into account the actual power of a move, weakness/resistance, STAB, power-ups, shields, etc, etc. But if you're asking when to faint?
Real life has no hit points. If you want something or want to defend something badly enough, you'll keep up the fight even as you're drawing your last breath of life if you must. In contrast, if you're just in it for fun, or petty reasons, or deem safety more important, you might give up before you'd get to "fainting" status. It depends on each character and each RP situation.
